Thoughts on life, love, and everything in between
Everything Lady Pj Blog covers topics related to health, healing, including tips and tricks, tutorials, and my personal thought pieces written by me, Lady Pj .
Hello! I’m Philessa Nicole Hooks, but you might know me better as Lady Pj, a name I embraced back in 1995. I’ve written songs and kept a blog, but my journey hasn’t been easy. Fibromyalgia and PTSD have often left me feeling incapacitated.
My story is one of resilience. At just five years old, I faced molestation by a family member. Later, I was assaulted on prom night by a former boyfriend and again during my military service. These traumatic experiences have deeply affected me, leading to trust issues and social anxiety, making me quite reclusive.
But I want you to know that you’re not alone in your struggles. I understand your pain and invite you to join me on a journey of love and healing. Healing is a complex and profound process that goes beyond the physical. It involves mending the body, mind, and spirit.
Healing others is a remarkable gift, rooted in various practices and beliefs. In medicine, healthcare professionals use their expertise and tools to promote physical healing through advanced treatments, surgeries, and therapies. But healing isn’t confined to medical interventions. The caring presence of family, friends, and caregivers, with their compassion and empathy, plays a crucial role in the healing process, offering comfort in times of distress.
Additionally, many cultures and traditions embrace alternative healing methods. Techniques like Reiki, acupuncture, and energy healing are based on the belief that the body has an inherent ability to heal itself, focusing on balancing and harmonizing the body’s energies. Healing also encompasses psychological and spiritual dimensions, making it a truly holistic journey.
Let’s walk this path together, finding strength in our shared experiences and embracing the power of healing in all its forms.

Hello! I’m Philessa Nicole Hooks, but you might know me better as Lady Pj, and which I am happy to announce is officially trademarked, a name I embraced back on May 11, 2005.
I have composed poems and lyrics, contributed to songwriting, created and managed blogs, developed websites without prior experience, and produced my own TikToks. My journey has been challenging; fibromyalgia and PTSD have frequently made me feel incapacitated.
My story is one of resilience. At just five years old, I faced molestation by a family member. Later, I was assaulted on prom night by a former boyfriend and again during my military service. Steve Jobs
I live in Alabama, and I was raised in Bay Minette, Al. I embody the essence of a true country girl. I've hunted, I've fished, I've farmed, rode gocart and dirt bikes on country roads, and I've roade horse even did barreling riding in competitions for a bit. But I have always had the hardest time expressing waht I needed because I've always been able to get it myself.
Expressing myself isn't always straightforward.
My passion lies in creativity, be it crafting a blog post, composing lyrics or poetry, painting on a canvas, or creating music for a song. Blogging captivates me because it's a realm with boundless possibilities, allowing me to explore all these avenues and more. Having dedicated many years to this field, I faced a setback due to illness that halted my pursuits. But now, with the advent of AI, the possibilities are limitless.
I started blogging when blogging wasn’t cool. I just love creating and I love information; in addition, I love helping people. Blogging allows me to do all three things and to share my knowledge and experience with others who are interested in blogging. I believe that by sharing our knowledge, we can all grow and learn together.
I’m a disabled veteran and I can’t do a lot of the things that I use to do. I have anxiety real bad so I can’t deal with loud noise, too many people, too much activity (it puts me to sleep), or bright lights. I suffer from fibromyalgia, hyperinsomnia, and PTSD. So I do what I can.
Reiki is a fascinating form of energy healing that originated in Japan in the early 20th century. The term “Reiki” combines two Japanese words: “rei,” meaning universal or higher power, and “ki,” meaning life force energy. Together, they signify "spiritually guided life force energy"1.
In a typical Reiki session, a practitioner gently places their hands on or just above the client’s body, aiming to guide energy throughout the body to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and support the body’s natural healing processes21. The idea is that energy can become stagnant in the body due to physical injury or emotional pain, and Reiki helps to clear these blockages, allowing energy to flow freely again2.
Reiki sessions are usually conducted in a peaceful, private setting where the client remains fully clothed and either sits comfortably or lies down. The practitioner moves their hands over specific areas of the body, holding each position for a few minutes until they sense the energy has balanced2. Some practitioners also incorporate techniques like centering, clearing, and beaming to enhance the healing process2.
Energy healing, in general, encompasses a variety of practices beyond Reiki. Techniques like acupuncture and acupressure also focus on balancing the body’s energy flow. These methods are based on the belief that the body has an inherent ability to heal itself when its energies are properly aligned2.
Many people who receive Reiki report feeling a sense of deep relaxation, reduced pain, and improved overall well-being1. While scientific evidence on the effectiveness of Reiki is still limited, its growing popularity suggests that many find it beneficial as a complementary therapy21.

In the quiet of twilight, when shadows stretch across the land,
I see the world through a sepia lens, softened and worn.
The sun, a golden coin, dips below the horizon, casting long fingers of light that grasp at the edges of reality.
The river, a silver serpent; winds lazily through the valley, its scales shimmering with secrets whispered by the wind. It sometimes howls like a wolf; destructive passion unleashed without clear provocation.
Trees stand like ancient sentinels, their bark etched with tales of storms and seasons long gone, their leaves a mosaic of greens, oranges, yellows, and sometimes reds.
The moon, a pale pearl, hangs low in the indigo sky, its craters like pockmarks on a weathered face. Stars emerge, pinpricks of distant fire, each one a promise of something beyond our reach.
And there, in the distance, a lone figure walks the shore, their footsteps leaving imprints in the damp sand. They carry memories like burdens, their eyes fixed
on the horizon, where sea and sky merge into one.
This is the world as I see it: a canvas of muted hues, a symphony of silence, a dance of fleeting moments. No rhyme, no rhythm—just life unfolding, a masterpiece painted in whispers and sighs.
